Canopy 2.0 Program Overview
Two Mentors and Two Semesters
Work with a fall mentor and a spring mentor, each for a full semester, meeting 1-on-1 and in groups, for in-depth, consistent guidance.
1-on-1s
Meet twice (fall + spring) for 1-on-1 office hours with your cohort's specific office hours faculty. Additionally, meet once 1-on-1 with your spring mentor.
Tailored Guests
All visiting critics and lecturers will be selected by Canopy faculty in response to cohort's interests and needs.
Space Between Meetings
2.0 was designed with more time between semesters and meetings for artists to reflect on discussion, dive into suggested readings, self-organize with peers, and have valuable studio time to respond to feedback.
Seminar and Discussion
Spring will begin with two weeks of seminar focus - reading, debating, watching movies, and talking about art at large in a casual way with your cohort and spring mentor. Additional seminar discussions were added to spring schedule due to interest!
Group Critique
Artist will review work with an intimate cohort of 10 artist peers, mentors, and visiting critics.
Salons
Small group critique meetings with additional salon faculty.
